First Quarter Storm 50th anniv celebrations honors martyrs

At the event signalling the year-long celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the First Quarter Storm of 1970 at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani in Quezon City last January 26, its surviving participants paid tribute to all their comrades in the historic youth and student-led series of massive protest actions that rocked the Marcos dictatorship. No change under Duterte–workers

MILITANT workers celebrated “true Filipino heroes who follow in the footsteps of Andres Bonifacio” with a protest rally on the occasion of the national hero’s 153rd birth anniversary yesterday.

Thousands of Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) unionists and their supporters marched from Welcome Rotunda in Quezon City to Mendiola Bridge in Manila to demand that President Rodrigo Duterte implement changes he promised workers during the election period earlier this year. Read more

Kabataang Makabayan: Ibasura ang Oplan Bayanihan, sumapi sa Hukbong Bayan at ipagtanggol ang mamamayan

Naglunsad ng iglap-protesta ang mga kasapi ng Kabataang Makabayan kaninang umaga sa panulukan ng Blumentritt sa Maynila. Isa sa panawagan nila na ibasura na ni Presidente Duterte ang Oplan Bayanihan na ayon sa kanila ay pinagmumulan ng maraming paglabag sa karapatang tao at sumisira ng kabuhayan ng mga mamamayan lalo na sa kanayunan. Ang Kabataang Makabayan ay rebolusyonaryong organisasyon at nagdiriwang ngayong araw ng kanilang ika-52 anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag. Sila ay kasapi ng National Democratic Front (NDF).

Joma Sison receives first ever Gawad Supremo

Prof. Jose Ma. Sison, International League of Peoples’ Struggles chairperson, received the first ever Gawad Supremo in a special ceremony in Oslo, Norway;s Saga Kino last October 10.

Gawad Supremo is Bagong Alyansang Makabayan’s award to those who live the aspirations of Philippine national hero Andres Bonifacio for national liberation and social justice. Read more

Kabataang Makabayan film launches to a full house

HUNDREDS of viewers packed the University of the Philippines film institute as the film “Tibak: The Story of Kabataang Makabayan” was launched Monday.

Directed by veteran journalist Arlyn dela Cruz, the film looks back the founding of the revolutionary youth organization that started the national democratic revolution in the Philippines. # (Divine C. Miranda)

Revolutionary organizations call for Aquino’s ouster and intensification of people’s war

Around a thousand members of all revolutionary organizations allied to the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) marched along EDSA in Cubao, Quezon City in celebration of its 42nd founding anniversary this April 24, 2015 and calls for the people to bring down the US-Aquino regime and intensification of the armed revolution. The lightning rally started at two points, one near the Cubao-LRT station in Aurora while the other group started to march from Farmers-MRT station, converged and held a program at Cubao’s intersection.

Led by the Communist Party of the Philippines, NDFP’s allied organizations are the New People’s Army, Revolutionary Council of the Trade Unions, Pambansang Katipunan ng mga Magbubukid, Katipunan ng mga Samahang Manggagawa, Kabataang Makabayan, Makabayang Kilusan ng Bagong Kababaihan, Makabayang Kawaning Pilipino, Christians for National Liberation, Katipunan ng mga Gurong Makabayan, Artista at Manunulat para sa Sambayanan, Makabayang Samahang Pangkalusugan, Liga ng Agham para sa Bayan, COMPATRIOTS, Lupon ng Manananggol para sa Bayan, Moro Resistance and Liberation Organization and the Cordillera People’s Democratic Front.

“Detention and Defiance Against Dictatorship”

Ipinakilala sa publiko ang bagong libro ni Prof. Jose Maria Sison na may pamagat na Detention and Defiance against Dictatorship na ginanap sa University of the Philippines-Diliman. Dumalo ang marami sa mga kabataan na galing sa iba’t ibang pamantasan at komunidad. Ito ay bahagi rin ng pagdiriwang ng ika-50 taong anibersaryo ng Kabataang Makabayan (KM). Marami sa mga aktibista noong dekada ’70 ang dumalo sa pagtitipon kagaya nina Dr. Carol Aurollo, Rey Casambre, Daning Ramos, Vicente Ladlad at marami pang iba. Si Luis Jalandoni, Chairperson NDFP Peace Panel, ang isa sa pangunahing tagapagsalita sa okasyon.

Ang Aklat ng Bayan, Anakbayan at Bayan ang nangasiwa sa pagtitipon.
