UP Carillon plays Ang Internasyunal on Marx’s 200th birth anniversary

As activists celebrate the 200th birth anniversary of Karl Marx, the University of the Philippines played The Internationale.

The event was part of the global celebration of Marx’s theoretical contributions to the emancipation of the working class that will last an entire year.

This is the first time after a long while that the Carillon played the workers’ anthem.

Philippine activists launch October Revolution Centennial celebs

The Centennial Celebration of the Great October Socialist Revolution made its public debut in the Philippines led by the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS), the People’s Resource for International Solidarity and Mass Mobilization (PRISMM) and the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) held on May 5, 2017 at the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman.

This was followed by a study conference on the historic significance of the October Revolution with international participants and leaders of the Philippine mass movement of workers, peasants, indigenous peoples and women.
