Hundreds of members of National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) allied organizations held a lightning rally in Divisoria in Manila earlier today as part of the Front’s 52nd founding anniversary celebrations, calling for the intensification of the armed revolution in the country.
“Fr. Brian told us then that mercy and compassion for the victims are not enough. Rather, we should journey with them in their sacrifices and struggles in order for them to achieve the dignity they deserve as God’s children,” Fr. Fernandez said.
In an alert, the progressive party said Pauline Joy Banjawan may have been abducted in Sto. Tomas, Batangas which had been crawling with soldiers in full battle gear last Saturday.
“It is in Bato’s rotten character to lie to the people and cover up on his criminal record as police general,” CPP chief information officer Marco Valbuena said.
Former Bayan Muna Representatives Atty. Neri Colmenares and Ferdinand Gaite questioned before the high court CSC Memorandum Circular No. 3, series of 2025, saying the directive infringes upon the constitutional rights of government employees, particularly their freedom of expression, right to participate in political discourse, and their rights as workers.
“You ask if we own the land. You mock us. Where is your title? Where are the documents to prove that you own the land? Title. Documents. Proof. Such arrogance of owning land when you are owned by it. How can you own that which outlives you? Only the people own the land because only the people live forever. To claim a place is the birthright of everyone. The lowly animals claim their place, how much more of human beings. They are born to live.”
PTFOMS executive director Undersecretary Jose Torres Jr. said they condemn the attacks that highlight “significant threats to press freedom in the country.”
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) called on the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) to strengthen armed struggle against intensifying United States imperialist aggression in the country.
“Celiz is not a dissident seeking refuge from political persecution. By his own record, he is a military asset and paid propagandist attempting to evade accountability for years of systematic red-tagging, disinformation, and public vilification of activists and rights defenders,” the NUPL said.
Three of the six accused hold leading roles in Makabayan and progressive partylists the groups said make them particular targets of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC)—especially in the run-up to the 2025 mid-term elections, the groups said.
