NPA-Mindoro reports victory over attacking 203rd Brigade

The New People’s Army (NPA) in Mindoro Island said one of its units successfully foiled an attack by the 203rd Brigade of the Philippine Army last Thursday, September 25, resulting in the death of three government soldiers.

The NPA’s Lucio de Guzman Command said its unit successfully defended itself when attacked at around 11:50 AM in Sitio Barayong, Barangay Manaul of the municipality of Mansalay, inflicting injuries on several others.

The NPA said its latest victory against State troopers is proof of its recovering strength and the undying support of the masses.

“This is another slap on the face of the arrogant and lying Armed Forces of the Philippines officers who claim that the NPA is a spent force,” the Communist guerillas said.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Army acknowledged the incident as a “legitimate encounter,” but was silent on the NPA’s claim of three casualties on the side of the 203rd Brigade.

The Brigade’s social media page posted photos it claimed was the camp left behind by the NPA in their retreat.

The NPA however mocked their enemy, saying the 203rd Brigade is desperate in keeping its casualty a secret while local residents celebrate their defeat.

“The masses are pleased that the butchers were punished, as they only bring harm and pain with their militarization of civilian communities,” the NPA said.

The group said the morale of both Red fighters and the masses is getting higher and are ready to resist Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fascim in the countryside.

“As revelations of grave corruption in government continue, it is only affirmed that revolution is the only effective way to eradicate bureaucrat capitalism that oppresses the people,” the NPA said. # (Raymund B. Villanueva)
