The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) directed the New People’s Army (NPA) to render a Red salute to National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) Negotiating Panel senior adviser Luis G. Jalandoni on Thursday.

To honor Jalandoni as “a hero of the Filipino people,” the CPP Central Committee ordered all units of the NPA to fall into formation on the break of dawn of June 12 and perform a “silent 21-gun salute.”

The message of the Central Committee honoring Ka Louie will be read as part of the nationwide activity, CPP chief information officer Marco Valbuena said.

“In recognition of Ka Louie’s exemplary and great contributions to the Filipino people’s revolutionary struggle, let us give him our firmest Red salute, and celebrate his extraordinary life,” the CPP said on Tuesday.
