‘Where did 50k of our votes go?’ Gabriela Women’s Party asks Comelec

“If votes for a sectoral party representing women and other vulnerable sectors can simply vanish without explanation, it risks disenfranchising not only the candidates but the countless women and marginalized communities whose voices they seek to represent,” Gabriela said.
Bong Go’s ‘epal’ politics

The most “epal” politician this side of the planet is none other than Sen. Bong Go and he basks on being No. 1 in the senatorial race on account of his “Malasakit Centers,” which is another bureaucratic layer in the already heavily-bureaucratized Duterte-Marcos Jr. administrations.

Sinking in electoral fraud

The system to cheat has been institutionalized. It has been abetted by the sudden change in the Comelec software, from “version 3.4” to “version 3.5” without as much as an explanation to all political parties, partylists and election watchdogs about what happened to the source code, which apparently has been changed, with Comelec now tying itself in knots trying to say nothing changed in the source code that could have padded the votes of Bong Go and Ronald de la Rosa, as well as Rodante Marcoleta.

Free and independent media are the eyes and ears of the public, especially during elections. Any attempt to curtail their access is not only a violation of press freedom but a grave affront to the integrity of these elections.
Bishop echoes Leo XIV’s call; seeks freedom for jailed journalist Frenchie Mae Cumpio

San Carlos Bishop Gerardo Alminaza said he gives his full support to the new Pontiff’s call for the release of journalists jailed “for seeking and reporting the truth” such as Frenchie Mae Cumpio.
Weird software, weirder poll results

Computer experts are roundly condemning the Comelec for claiming that version 3.5 of the election management system (EMS) was used after a third-party audit. They said that when the 3.4 software was elevated to 3.5, the codes in the software were changed to mean it was debugged, some features were added or the security system was upgraded. If nothing was changed with the source code, why was the version changed?
