amid divergent views and echoes strong

from fetid mouths of fraudsters did surface

an offered remedy* to right a wrong:

an earlier polls for voters of this race.

but pressing questions quickly did the chase

soon as the offer made the final dot:

would snap polls make a good reset, a case

that would let people hold their valley’s knot?

the echoes quite suggest how bad the shot

had been, but there are those who offer – nice

and easy – an alternative: the plot

for growth and social concord, that’s the prize.

The snap polls as suggested may well just

be useless button for a damaged trust.

*Senator Alan Peter Cayetano on Sunday appealed to all sitting government officials — from Congress to Malacañang – to resign and give way to a snap election for a completely new set of leaders. Immediately many reacted negatively, including retired Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio, who said “It’s pointless to discuss his proposal because it’s not feasible constitutionally.” Senate President Vicente Sotto III and Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson agreed the constitution does not provide for the holding of a snap election.
