Sigaw

Andres,

Ilabas ang sundang!

Hasain, hasaing mainam, hasaing mabuti

May susuunging labang muli!

Tagpasin ang mga sinungaling

Tagain ang mga magnanakaw

Naglipana sila’t tila dumarami!

Sa isang daang milyong bunganga

Na maaring gawing bisita—

Diyos na mahabagin–

Sa araw na kayo’y ginugunita

Bakit naman isang dalahira

Ang panauhi’t tagapagsalita?

‘Never again to tyrants!’ progressives say

Progressive groups commemorated Ferdinand Marcos’ 100th birth anniversary Monday by holding a protest rally at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes’ Cemetary) in Taguig City, saying President Rodrigo Duterte is as much as tyrant as the late dictator.

Black Friday: A fiesta of furious and funny placards

Thousands of youth and students who grew up with Twitter, Facebook and Instagram stamped their mark on the Black Friday protest at Rizal Park with both enraged and funny placards that became one of the focal points of the event.

Tirelessly holding the placards aloft, the young protesters tried to outdo each other with the funniest and angriest quips they hoped would be read aloud by the emcees during the program.

The placards did not spare President Rodrigo Duterte, calling him the Marcoses’ puppet for ordering a hero’s burial for the late dictator.

Petitioners vs Marcos’ hero burial face off with loyalists outside SC

Supporters of the petition against Ferdinand Marcos’ burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani held a rally outside the Supreme Court last August 31 while oral arguments were being heard by the Supreme Court.

The protesters said that the burial of Marcos at a cemetery for “heroes” would insult the memory of those who fought for democracy and allows the warping of history through the rehabilitation of the late dictator’s reputation.

A crowd of Marcos loyalists heckled the rally when they arrived outside the SC. Read more
