SC isn’t infallible, as Leonen admits

Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, the ponente of the assailed 97-page Sara Duterte vs House of Representatives ruling, may have implicitly admitted that something doesn’t add up in his written treatise, saying that if anyone bothers to look closely, the Supreme Court (SC) justices are not gods.

‘Mahiya naman tayo’

Even if Marcos Jr. pointed his finger at the usual suspects, four of his fingers point back at him. No one has exonerated him from his responsibility as head of government to ensure that all the funds appropriated for public works projects are spent judiciously.

Bongbong’s SONA means ‘SANA’

Marcos roared: “Mahiya naman kayo!” not “Mahiya naman sila.” The first statement appears to be directed at the lawmakers, who have been accused of pocketing up to 40% from public works, and he should have added the second to tag the unscrupulous contractors. He did not.

Can SC justices be impeached en masse?

Is it now possible for the 13 justices who concurred with the ponencia of Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen be impeached themselves for promulgating a decision that has surfeit of law but suffers from the paucity of justice? Or for cutting corners and giving short shrift to the internal rules of the legislature?

Bongbong’s plutocratic regime

Unless the Filipino people devote themselves to overturning these plutocrats, they are condemned to watching the oligarchs getting fatter along with the political dynasties whose members conspire with them.
