UP opens arms to Lumad Struggle

The Manilakbayan 2015 from Mindanao arrives at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman to press against state terror attacks on Lumad schools, communities and people. UP Chancellor Dr. Michael Tan and CONTEND Chair Prof. Gerry Lanuza receive the Lumads with open arms. Music provided by Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino (Kontra-GaPi) led by Prof. Edru Abraham. The campaign #StopLumadKillings is supported by the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) and the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP).

ACT Teachers: K to12, Kinalburo

Naglunsad ng kilos-protesta ang iba’t ibang organisasyon ng mga kabataang estudyante at mga guro sa pangunguna ng ACT Teachers Party List para tutulan ang programa sa edukasyon na K-12 ng pamahalaang Aquino. Sila ay nagdaos ng programa sa harap ng Malakañang para ipahayag ang mariing pagtutol at pagkundena sa wala sa panahong programang K-12 na ayon sa kanila ay “hinog sa pilit”.

Ayon sa grupo dapat lamang na ibasura ang K-12 sapagkat minadali o kinalburo ang pagpapatupad ng naturang programa. Maraming isyu ang anila ay mas dapat tutukan ng pamahalaan gaya ng kakulangan sa silid-aralan, kakulangan sa guro at mismong kasanayan ng mga guro ay hindi pa naitataas ang antas upang umangkop sa K to 12.

ACT: Ibasura ang K to 12 education program ng pamahalaang Aquino

Nagmartsa ang mga guro at istudyante sa ilalim ng Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) at National Union of Students of the Philippines mula Philippine Normal University patungong Liwasang Bonifacio para ipakita ang mariing pagtutol sa pagpapatupad ng K-12 program sa edukasyon ng pamahalaang Aquino. Hiniling din nila na isuspinde ang kurikulum ng K-12 dahil wala diumano itong basehan na makakatulong ito sa pag-unlad ng bayan bagkus tiyak na panganib ang patutunguhan ng mga mag-aaral na papailalim sa programa dahil mas papaboran nito ang Labor Export Policy imbis na mabigyan ng disenteng trabaho sa Pilipinas.

Kaguma members hold lightning rally

Members of Katipunan ng mga Gurong Makabayan or Kaguma held a lightning rally at Litex Market this morning to celebrate the underground organization’s 44th Anniversary. Wearing teachers uniforms, they called on the people to further support the National Democratic Revolution and the campaign to oust President Benigno Aquino for his crimes against the people.

Kaguma is an allied organization of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines, Which celebrates its own 46th anniversary on April 25.

The struggle continues…

The members of Alliance of Health Workers (AHW) and Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) held a protest to denounce the four year Aquino administration for not giving them any single salary increase amidst endless price increases of basic commodities and services.
