#BanTrump protest in Manila unfazed by police brutality

Thousands of protesters from the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) held a protest in Manila in time for U.S. Pres. Donald Trump’s meeting with ASEAN heads of states on November 13, 2017 in Manila.

On its second straight day, Monday’s rally was the biggest protest event on the series of ASEAN meetings which Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte chaired and hosted.

Anti-riot police used water canons, sound canons, truncheons and shields against the protesters but the activists were unfazed.

Rally organizers 128 protesters were injured with several taken to the hospital for treatment. At least two activists were also arrested by the police.

The #BanTrump protests called for the withdrawal of all U.S. troops and end to imperialist plunder.

Delegates from the International Solidarity Conference to Resist US-led Imperialist Wars and Build Just Peace joined the rally. Music by Bayan-USA.
