Kodao Productions' joined the National Interfaith Mission for Peace and Justice in Maguindanao which started in January 22 and will end on January 26, 2010. The activity was organized by KARAPATAN, Kawagib, and Kalinaw Mindanao. The mission went to the massacre site in Brgy. Salman, Ampatuan, Maguindanao province where 57 individuals (including more than 30 journalists) were brutally murdered last November 23, 2009.  read more »Click the images below for bigger versions:

Dear Family and Friends,

As some of you may now know, last November 16, 2009, Ariel Saturay, a documentary filmmaker, suffered a massive stroke while conducting a video training. Ariel is a volunteer of Kodao, an award-winning multimedia production outfit. He is now out of intensive care but the right half of his body has been affected by the stroke.  read more »

Operation Serve the People's 14th Relief Mission goes to the flooded and devastated town of Bayambang, Pangasinan. Bayan Muna Partylist Representative Satur Ocampo leads the distribution of three thousand relief bags in four villages.

A mass led by Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales opened the last of the three-day assembly of more than 200 catholic priests from all over the country. After mass and before the start of the plenary, the assembly dedicated a prayer and a commitment to seek justice for the murder of Fr. Kodao's Jola Diones-Mamangun reports directly from San Carlos Seminary at the historic assembly of more than 200 catholic priests from all over the country for the "National Discernment of Priests and their Prophetic Role". The three day convention which starts today celebrates Pope Benedict XVI's proclamation of this year's Jubilee of Priests and talks about the clergy's role in social transformation.

With the aid of makeshift water transports, Bayan Muna's Operation Serve the People distributed relief goods directly to the flooded homes of residents of Brgy. Maybunga in Pasig City. Almost a thousand families benifited from the relief operation.

Bayanihan Alay sa Sambayanan (BALSA) conducted relief and medical missions in flood affected communities of Bagumbayan in Libis, Quezon City, and Brgy. Kalawaan, Pasig City today. Both communities were submerged in more than seven feet of water during typhoon Ondoy. Some parts of Brgy. Operation Serve the People conducted relief operations at barangays Tatalon and Talayan in Quezon City benifiting more than 800 families. Rep. Satur Ocampo along with Bayan Muna members and volunteers joined local chapters of the partylist organization in distributing the relief goods. Various people's organizations are still soliciting donations and inviting volunteers for the relief efforts. Click here to help.
